Bit of a strange start to the run to Eaton
Manor as we found that Roger had been taken to hospital with
Yoland in tow. So thankfully Ann and Andrew had taken the SHACC
baton for a while, they scoured their house for random raffle
prizes, random they definitely were. No Christmas presents for the
Collier family this year! We were able to take a few prizes and
the necessary raffle tickets. Ann and Carol started to sell
tickets, people were very generous and overall the raffle raised
£155 for Macmillan nurses .The prizes were excellent considering
the rather panicky way that they were collected, including some
hand-made note books by Carol and a marvellous shoe rack
which we were pleased to win (honestly) and are now racking our
brains to find an alternative use.
Not as many vehicles as hoped but it is always good to meet people
and their cars especially new ones and hope some may join us
again.
The afternoon entertainment was mostly filled by John's dog Moose
spontaneously charging around chasing birds and butterflies.
Nicky John and Nickies dad were thanked for allowing us to use
their wonderful venue again, then we all started to drift away
when an emergency call came that one of the local cars had a
mishap when a rear wheel came off, John and team to the rescue,
one Panther kit car fixed and away.
Once again thanks to all at Eaton Manor for a great SHACC open day
