Eight cars made the trip to Cae Dai 50s museum—albeit by different routes, some by design some in error, but in all cases some interesting Welsh roads.
We have been to the museum on several occasions but always find lots of things to see or read that we hadn’t noticed before. Among the new things this time was a vintage multi-meter I donated last year. Also new was Sparrow (the owner) giving us a talk about his time in London in the 1950s/60s and how he came to buy the great train robbers’ lorry. I didn’t remember that Ernest Marples the extremely unpopular Minister for Transport fled to Monte Carlo to avoid prosecution for tax evasion taking £2million with him.
